Social Sciences Week

is an annual event that celebrates and showcases the diverse range of social sciences disciplines and research in Australia.

8-14 September 2025

The social sciences are key to understanding humanity, society and the institutions which govern our daily lives.

An initiative of several Australian social science associations and coordinated by the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, Social Sciences Week will grow again in 2025 with a combination of in-person, online and hybrid events.

Register an event

Registrations for the 2025 events program will open early in the new year. We welcome virtual, in-person and hybrid events. In 2024, we had improv theatre, debates and art events, lectures, workshops and more. We welcome all social science-themed events and participants are encouraged to be as creative as possible.
