Promoting lived experience in homelessness and housing practice
- This event has passed.
It is well established that the expertise of people who have lived through difficult experiences like homelessness and housing precarity can profoundly reshape policy and practice. In areas like mental health and disability the idea of ‘nothing about us, without us’ is central, however in spaces such as homelessness and housing, there has been little work to centralise Lived Experience. This panel discussion will involve Lived Experience leaders and researchers who will provide a clear definition of, and debunk myths about, lived experience of homelessness and housing precarity. The panel will offer practical suggestions for improving the meaningful participation and influence of experts by experience.
