Join Distinguished Professor Ingrid Piller as she explores the profound impact of language barriers on healthcare outcomes. Drawing on her extensive expertise in intercultural communication, multilingualism, and bilingual education, Ingrid will discuss the severe health consequences faced by non-English speakers in Australia, including a Covid-19 mortality rate three times higher among the overseas-born.

The seminar will provide an overview of language barriers, their impact on health disparities, and practical strategies to bridge these gaps.
