YURLU | COUNTRY screening, presented by Yuin woman Fran Grant
A documentary of what happens when country is mined then abandoned, YURLU | COUNTRY is a powerful film that tells a story all Australians should know about. The film follows Banjima Elder, Maitland Parker, and his fight to bring awareness and healing to his Yurlu (homelands) “Poison Country”, reminding us of the human and cultural costs of mining previous land. This screening is presented by Fran Grant, senior Yuin woman and UTS lecturer in Social and Political Sciences. Since Fran first saw this film she has been committed to sharing it with as many people as possible, in an effort to raise awareness and instigate action.
