The Great Student Debate Competition 2026

Seriously Social and the National Library of Australia, supported by the University of Canberra, have joined forces to bring learning to life with an exciting Social Sciences Week event just for schools.

On Thursday 17 September, two teams of student debaters will battle it out on the topic “that Australian politics is alive and well” at the National Library of Australia in Canberra.

Seriously Social is inviting all high schools (and homeschoolers too!) around Australia to enter the competition to have the opportunity to see your students debating in front of an audience at the National Library during Social Sciences Week 2026.

To enter, download the application pack, complete it and submit it before the closing date on March 31, 2026.
